The results of the first international wine tasting competition of the year, Mundus Vini held in Berlin, were recently made known to public. According to them, Fanagoria Estate Winery was awarded two gold medals.
“A Hundred Shades of Red. Saperavi 2016 is our highest acclaimed wine,” CEO Petr Romanishin explained. “Since 2018, it has been a permanent participant of a number of most sought-after tasting competitions. The award from Berlin became its tenth medal, and the geography of the contests it took part in includes the UK, Slovakia, Austria (where it performed three times), Israel and Russia. I think that we can assert that in addition to achieving the acknowledgment of most famous global wine experts, Fanagoria wines have thereby confirmed the consistency of their high quality.”
Mundus Vini is held twice a year by Meininger Verlag, a renowned German publishing house. The competent jury panel annually tastes over 11,000 wine samples. The organisers assert that their event is “one of the most important and respectful wine competitions worldwide.” According to the rules, medals can be given to maximum 40% of the total number of submitted samples that received highest scores in their respective category.
